Our reading recommendations of the week #46 – 2017

Here are our reading recommendations for this week:

  • The value of human, exploratory testing
  • RiskStorming – Mapping Risks with TestSphere
  • 8 ways to rev up your app testing

Everyone reading this blog heard about exploratory testing, but that’s probably not true for people out of the business of Software Testing. That’s why reading this article by DHH (Creator of Ruby on Rails, Founder & CTO at Basecamp, author of REWORK and REMOTE, and not a tester at all) is refreshing. Exploratory testing is very valuable and no automation will get rid of this fact: The value of human, exploratory testing

Then a second article that explains how to use your TestSphere deck (you have one right?) to steer a discussion about product risk and help come up with a test strategy. I found this workshop description by Marcel Gehlen very good and worth trying: RiskStorming – Mapping Risks with TestSphere

Finally, a quick list of  8 ways to rev up your app testing by Matthew Heusser which is always good to keep in mind and not forget if you’re struggling with your automation framework.

Happy reading and see you in two weeks!
